Repost: The Coverer

Recently, I reposted a blog to the Love and Marriage page. The blog is entitled The Coverer. I won't go into a lot of detail about it here because I want you to go in and read it for yourself. I will tell you that it is about a man whose funeral I went to maybe six or seven years ago. I didn't know him personally but after I left his services that day, I wished I had. His funeral was like no funeral that I had ever gone to before. The order of service itself was similar but it lacked the theatrics of many funerals that I had been to. You know the ones where the preacher, friends and family of the deceased go on and on for hours pleading a case for delayed entry to Heaven for their loved one (who was probably a hellion) in front of a jury (congregation) and a Judge (God) who looks down as they wrap up their closing arguments. As the spectacle is coming to a close, you want to peep inside the casket to make sure that you're in the right service because the character witnesses seem to be describing someone who is a stranger to you. That was not the case for Jeff. As you read The Coverer pay attention to the kind of man, father, provider, protector and husband that Jeff was. Share it with the men in your life. My prayer is that it will encourage, enlighten, equip and empower them to be the Coverers of their households. Be blessed.
