I'm not a fan of making New Year's resolutions. I believe that we should be continually mastering goals that align with our purpose, or our God-reason for being. With an upside down economy, inflation on the incline and everybody and their mommas purportedly living their "best life" on social media, the pressure to produce is real. I get it.
But I also get that trying to force something to happen outside of God's will and timing can be dangerous. Your plans can be stagnated and if you're not sensitive to His voice you'll miss it altogether when He does say go. His plan will prevail; unfortunately it will be through another vessel.
Or you could find yourself in a Sarai situation. She knew the plan. She questioned how God could deliver through her as she appeared to be an unlikely candidate. Instead of waiting patiently for God to deliver on His word, she made a mess trying to produce the promise in her own wisdom. What Sarai created was a counterfeit, instead. It was birthed prematurely and outside of God's timing. Sarai produced Ishmael but what God wanted her to have was Isaac.
Jeremiah 29:11AMP says, 'For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' Some of the plans that God has for us are not for the right now; they're for the latter...the days of greater. (Job 8:7) This would have been Isaac for Sarah. When He allows us to have a glimpse of those plans, it is so that we will have confidence in knowing that He has gone ahead to provide for us. We don't have to worry about the tomorrows (Matthew 6:31-32); Jehovah Jireh has already been there.
Now there are times when He will speak a rhema word that is for the right now. You will already have access to what you need in order to implement the idea. You will know without a doubt that it's something that can be done immediately. When this happens, don't think about it. Just do it. Thinking on it, rethinking it and overthinking it will cause you to second-guess your ability to carry it out and question whether or not it was actually God's voice that you heard at all. I've been guilty of this many times and I'm here to tell you that the consequences of disobedience cost too much.
For the most part, though, when God reveals His plans to us they are for the future. We then have the responsibility to wait patiently until that still small voice within gives the directive to proceed. Remember, stepping out prematurely can get you off course and have you on a path to desolation and isolation like Ishmael. Remain steadfast and wait on your Isaac to show up. No matter how great the temptation is to welcome Ishmael, remember; the blessing is in your Isaac.
This is a good word and I'm so glad you're feeding us with this message. God's plans will prevail whether you're ready or not. But I'd rather be ready. Thanks sis!
This is absolutely on point! I know I’ve been guilty of trying to navigate my path instead of being patient and waiting on God‘s direction.
This is so on time! Yes, we must wait on God and not more before it’s time to move!!! Thank you so much!
I love this, we should never get ahead of God and make it happen on your own.
This is good!! You are so right, when we step outside of God‘s timing we will get the counterfei & not what God has for us which is always so much better!!! Thank you Jesus for this word & the reminder to continually seek you in order to be sure that it’s really you speaking!!
